Claudio Sandoval is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Georgia State University (GSU). His research sits at the intersection of democracy and human rights, with focus on Latin America. He is an occasional political analyst for global news agencies, including the BBC, Newsweek and France 24. His active involvement in the community includes pro bono support to asylum seekers in the United States and to victims of human rights violations from the armed conflict in Colombia. Claudio has extensive international experience in outreach, facilitation, and advocacy at the highest executive and diplomatic levels. In 2010, the Obama administration valued these efforts and officially acknowledged him as an emerging leader in civil society. As a consultant, he has assisted clients across industries, including The World Bank Group and GE on administrative and legal matters. Claudio studied law at Andrés Bello Catholic University, Leiden University, and GSU.
