Steven Shields is currently pursuing a Masters in Religious Studies at Georgia State University and is a Student Innovation Fellow who works on Digital Humanities, specifically Geographic Mapping of religious trends. His interests focus on the personal impact that ethics and religious beliefs have on decision-making in life-altering situations, such as treatment options within the health care arena as well as the individual struggles with belief within the Prison System. Steven obtained his Juris Doctorate from Mercer Law School in 2013 and graduated from Spring Hill College with a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science. After graduation from Georgia State he hopes to continue learning about the field of Medical Ethics in general as well as studying the differing pedagogical approaches to teaching religion within State and Federal Prisons.
