Co-sponsored by The Ohio State University and Georgia State University, the Digital Archive of Literacy Narratives (DALN) is a publicly available archive of personal literacy narratives captured in a variety of formats (text, video, audio). The archive of 6000+ narratives offers an exciting and unique perspective into literacy practices, the values expressed by contributors, and how these values and practices change over time.

SIF fellows are working closely with the project sponsors to migrate the existing data to a new server and to re-design a new and more responsive website. Student fellows who work on this project engage in a variety programming tasks including web-design with both custom and third-party APIs, and app development with the help of Amazon’s cloud-based services (AWS). Projects like the DALN offer SIF fellows unique opportunities to develop skills in API and website development, cloud-based service and database management, and to gain professional experience with server-less architecture.
