The SIF team is developing a Homeless Youth Resource Site. This mobile-first website will provide resources for homeless high school students intending to apply to college or university and will provide a secure storage option for personal documents (transcripts, IDs, tax information etc). This Hybrid application (mobile and web) with secure email and cloud storage could assist homeless high school students establish a sense of stability as they work to complete their high school requirements and apply to a post-secondary educational learning and/or training experience. Furthermore, this website will also focus on centralizing resources to homeless youth. A recent study about Atlanta’s Homeless youth population by Georgia State University and recently expanded federal guidelines from the Department of Education show the plight of those living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or campgrounds due to a lack of alternative arrangements, awaiting foster care placement, living in substandard housing and children of migrant workers.
